Sirka is a village in Pakistan, part of the district of Attock. It is surrounded by many other smaller and larger villages. The population of the village is unknown accurately at resent. (To be published soon…)
This village started of with 3 Brothers who arrived from Kabul and settled in Sirka and from these 3 men the village grew larger and larger in numbers (more in detail to follow soon…)
The main language of Sirka is Pukhto also known as Pushto and its residents are known as Pukhtoons or Pushtoons. Languages spoken in the surrounded villages of Sirka are Pukhto and Henko.
Many of the villagers live abroad in country's such as USA, United Kingdom, Dubai, Malaysia, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Hong Kong.
The main sport in the village is Cricket and Volleyball.
Sirka is full of greenery and beautiful plains in which the villagers grow many types of crops. At the rear of the village is a river which is linked with one of the worlds largest rivers, The river Indus. During summer the water rises immensely and can be very dangerous for those around the river especially for the swimmers.
In the past many have lost their lives whilst enjoying the hot weather in the river.
It is also a known fact that the village originally was based close to this river but as time gradually moved on the villagers moved further and further away from the River. The river has clear waters which many people also drink from and bath in.
Evidence of people living near the River was discovered some years ago when a sewage was being dug up through the village to the river, and graves which were centuries old were discovered, The skeletons of the dead were still visible, which were then re-buried in other locations.
There is a saying that "everything moves in a circle" meaning that "history repeats itself". This is evident in Sirka as week by week new buildings are being constructed and slowly getting closer and closer to the River again.
The river was also used for trading. The Greeks traded with silver and bronze through the land of Sirka during the time of the goddess Athena some 2133 years ago (120 B.C / 1548 hijra). The land in Sirka is full of treasures such as silver which has been evident during the time in history. Also at the rear of the village is a Forrest which was at one point very rich with greenery and full of lively trees which gave life, food and shade to the wild animals that were within it, but unfortunately about 20 /25 years ago the trees were cut down, sold and used for things such as paper, wooden furniture, toys etc...
